From the Manufacturer

The EMD DDA40X used to be a 6,600 hp diesel locomotive built by General Motors’ Electro-Motive Division for the Union Pacific Railroad. Forty seven locomotives of this kind were built and numbered from UP 6900 to UP 6946. This class of locomotive used to be named Centennial by the Union Pacific because it used to be delivered all over Union Pacific’s centennial celebration of the driving of the golden spike that completed the transcontinental railroad at Promontory Summit, Utah. DCC equipped for speed, direction and lighting fixtures. Dual mode NMRA decoder with 8-pin plug. Twelve wheel drive. Two skew-wound motors with four flywheels. E-Z Mate Mark II couplers.
