Product description

This is a brand spanking new N scale item.

From the Manufacturer

The GG1, one of the vital PRR’s most famous and recognizable locomotives, is also probably the most curiously designed. Technically two locomotives under one shell (a “G” class locomotive is a 4-6-0 by PRR specification, due to this fact the GG1 was once two “G” locomotives in a 4-6-0:0-6-4 arrangement) – this added up to a 4.6k horsepower locomotive that was once staggeringly powerful, even by today’s standards. Designed in the 20’s, built in 30’s and not retired until the 80’s, the GG1 had a fantastic lifespan and survives today as a testament to its time in both its unique Loewy-design and overwhelming performance. The original prototype GG1, #4800, enjoyed a long life and a lot of paint schemes, including this special “Bicentennial” scheme that adorned it throughout the 1976 celebrations. Carrying a unique red, white and blue color scheme and adorned with 50 stars on each side and an image of the liberty bell, the locomotive joined the ranks of the Bicentennial Southern Pacific GS-4 and Burlington Northern Bicentennial “Spirit of 76” U30C in celebrating the USA’ 200th Birthday.
